Where we're going

Small hosted trips to the real places behind well-loved books, history and films. Each one starts with several months of reading, watching and listening together.

How our trips work

Imagine it. Live it. Tell it.

  1. Imagine it

For several months before the trip, we immerse you in the story. The group reads books and poetry, watches films, and listens to music and storytellers tied to the place, so you can picture it before you go. Two video calls a month.

  2. Live it

Travel with a small group and stand where the story happened, with day trips to the sites. One base where we can, meals together, and we plan and host everything.

  3. Tell it

You come home with your own version of the story to tell. That's why we're called Twice Told Stories: told once by the writer, and again by you. More about the name

Coming on your own

Most people on trips like this come alone.

Because the group talks online for months before the trip, you'll already know everyone by the first dinner. On our Yorkshire trip, a room of your own is the standard price, with no single supplement.
